Real-Time Continuous Glucose Monitoring for People Living With Type 1 Diabetes

چکیده

Continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) is a method of testing in which sensor inserted into the skin and continuously monitors interstitial concentrations. Real-time continuous (rtCGM) systems automatically measure display recent value.
Evidence suggests that rtCGM may improve hemoglobin A1C time range adults pediatric patients with type 1 diabetes, but this uncertain.
Limited evidence people there little to no difference between self-monitoring blood (SMBG) on quality life, diabetic ketoacidosis, severe adverse events.
Safety decrease hypoglycemia be more cost-effective long term than SMBG diabetes.

The interrelationship of HbA1c and real-time continuous glucose monitoring in children with type 1 diabetes.

AIMS The aim of this observational study is to investigate the relationship between age, duration of diabetes, HbA1c and the parameters of glucose levels measured with real-time CGM in children with type 1 diabetes. METHODS Glucose level was characterized with the relative time spent in hyper- and hypoglycemia, central tendency, variability and MAGE during (real-time) CGM. These parameters we...

Real-time continuous glucose monitoring in type 1 diabetes: a qualitative framework analysis of patient narratives.

OBJECTIVE This study analyzed narratives about experiences of real-time continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) in people with type 1 diabetes. RESEARCH DESIGN AND METHODS People with type 1 diabetes using CGM and caregivers completed an online survey. Questions included duration of CGM, frequency of sensor wear, funding, and a free narrative about experiences or views about CGM. We used qualitat...

Continuous glucose monitoring in pregnant women with type 1 diabetes

The use of continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) has been increasing, especially in patients with type 1 diabetes, partly due to improved accuracy with lower mean amplitude relative difference (about 10%) with the newer or implantable sensors. Most real-time subcutaneous sensors are approved for 7 days—except for the implantable sensor, which lasts 3 months—and require two calibrations per day. O...

Continuous subcutaneous glucose monitoring in children with type 1 diabetes.

PURPOSE To determine whether the use of continuous subcutaneous glucose monitoring will help in detecting unrecognized nocturnal hypoglycemia and in lowering hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) levels (without increasing the risk for severe hypoglycemia) in children with type 1 diabetes. METHODS Eleven children with type 1 diabetes and HbA1c values consistently >8.0% were randomized either to the Continuo...

Continuous glucose monitoring in children with type 1 diabetes.

OBJECTIVE To examine the feasibility of daily use of a continuous glucose monitor, the FreeStyle Navigator Continuous Glucose Monitoring System ("Navigator"), in children with type 1 diabetes (T1D). STUDY DESIGN After a masked Navigator was used for 4 to 7 days to establish a baseline level of glycemic control, 30 insulin pump users with T1D (average age 11.2 years) were asked to use the Navi...
